Phlebotomy Technicians are responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a safe, hygienic, and efficient manner. They perform venipuncture procedures, collect other specimens, such as urine and saliva, and label and transport specimens for testing. Phlebotomy Technicians must maintain a sterile and organized work environment, follow safety and infection control protocols, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the blood draw process. They also verify patient information, maintain accurate records, and provide excellent customer service to patients. In addition to phlebotomy procedures, they may also perform other tasks, such as specimen processing and lab equipment maintenance. Phlebotomy Technicians play a critical role in supporting healthcare providers in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.
